xmascard 20: credits, comments, ani and bob news for
2020
- Notes:
Masks, could any other theme characterize this pandemic
year?
Yes, we barely got rid of Trump, but returning to the tired
neoliberal policies of the Wall Street Democrats which helped elect him in the
first place. Will they respond to the demands of the people? To the demands of
the common good of the masses of ordinary people rather than the usual
fraction of a percent who pull the strings in our legally corrupt pretend
democracy. We are not holding our breath.
..

- Production details
We got a little help from Ani's
mom this year. Neither wanted to be in the photo. Domestic mailing December
22, foreign December 24, but due to Trump's attempt to crash the USPS,
delivery was considerably slowed down, taking 3 to 4 weeks to reach parts of
Italy.
- Sketches:
All ripped off from previous editions of the
Christmas card, using Clip Art Paint to mask up all the usual suspects and
fighting with Microsoft/Adobe to try to create and export to PDF for
printing. Here is an example of preparing the sketches for masking:
- Personal News:
For the first time since 1979 bob did not set foot in Italy! and the ani and
bob summer show in our rented attic apartment with a view in the center of
Rome did not go on after an anuual run since 2009! And the annual cheesecake
parties in Sabaudia and Bove were derailed. We miss all our Italian
friends everywhere and our summer neighborhood in particular!
Yes, 40
years of dr bob's wierd sense of humor infecting several dozen countries
around the planet once a year and saved for posterity (or until bob's
expiration date).
- Photos:
The masked photo in our car outside Trader Joe's in
Gateway Shopping Center, our favorite boutique food source.
The unmasked
photo with bob wearing a tie was from our celebration of Ani's birthday in
outside tent seating of the ovrepriced but high quality Italian restaurant
Savona at the base of our hill. Dressing up to make up for the COVID fashion
which invaded our lives this year.
- More bonus photos and sketches:
Because of the pandemic, no
summer in Italy 2019! To visit our
past collection of
Facebook uploaded
Italy summer photos
(Warning: too many food shots) and for all bob's Facebook
food posts without the politics, check out our
Facebook food master index. Not to mention the continuing posts to the
not quite a blog What, ME Cook?
website which continues plodding along year after year.
Not quite so NEW
but still largely ignored:
bob has been on
Instagram
another year to share his mostly last century sketch art with a few more
people than randomly find his lonely mostly ignored website.
And now
dr bob movie critic NOT! oversharing his thoughts on selected movie and
TV stuff on Facebook.
- Remembrances:
The million people around the planet taken by the pandemic and mismanagement
of the state response in many cases, and people's inability to do what is
good for their health in others.
- Financials (and Love stamps!):
The color of
the paper this year was ultra lemon but Villanova Fed-Ex contracted its
space this past summer and the Z-fold machine was disappeared. They have to
send it out for the Z-fold.
$154??? for 600 copies this time around.
This annual enterprise was sent out to about 570 recipients all over the world again with nice Love stamps to the
domestic crowd (55 cents), Poinsetta Holiday stamp
to destinations abroad ($1.15 ouch!).
Love stamp archive!
This page is amazing, it keeps on finding more Love Stame stuff to fill your
screen!
Postage in the same ballpark as last year $412 = 400x0.55
domestic + 160x1.15 foreign for about 580 lucky recipients in about two
dozen countries around the globe.
The dr bob negative profit corporation bookkeeping: a loss of over 600
bucks to plant a few smiles around the world, for a net gain not measurable
in dollars, serving to keep in touch with so many people who have entered
our lives over the years as we stumble through life.

please email us to stay in touch at
aniandbob@drbobenterprises.com, we promise to reply! There is no way for
us to include personal notes in this massive production project.
This
year the crippled USPS had long delays in delivering our card, mailed out
domestic Dec 22, foreign Dec 23, taking 3 to 4 weeks to reach many European
locations.
